The record of medicinal uses cited here for Nepeta juncea was originally cited in [] under the name Nepeta glomerulosa Boiss, a species native to Iran and southwest Afghanistan. However, the report was referring to a species found in Baluchistan, Pakistan, which is outside the range of Nepeta glomerulosa. Nepeta juncea, a species closely allied to Nepeta glomerulosa, has at times been incorrectly referred to as Nepeta glomerulosa[], and is considered to be the correct home for this record[].

Nepeta juncea is a clump-forming, perennial plant that becomes more or less woody, especially near the base; it produces many slender, erect stems with few branches, growing around 15 - 50cm tall[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine. It is sold for medicinal use in the markets of southern Pakistan[].
