The resin obtained from the plant is widely used as a substitute for medicinal Ferula in Xinjiang. Its active ingredients are mainly volatile components and it has significant pharmacological activities in the treatment of lumps, abdominal pain, malaria, dysentery, etc. It is mostly used clinically to treat cold pain in the heart and abdomen, chronic gastroenteritis, gastric ulcers, rheumatoid arthritis, and other diseases[
