Euonymus oxyphyllus is a deciduous shrub or small tree that can grow up to 8 metres tall
The plant is harvested fom the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of materials. It is often grown as an ornamental, valued especially for its autumn display of leaf colour and colourful fruit[

We have seen no specific reports of toxicity for this species, but there is a report in the Flora of the USSR Volume 14 that all parts of the plants in this genus are more or less poisonous[
