Calophaca grandiflora is a much-branched, semi-prostrate shrub that can grow up to 150cm tall[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a source of fibre. It is grown as an ornamental, valued especially for its large flowers[].

Cultivation Details

Calophaca grandiflora comes from the semi-arid regions of central Asia where it experiences hot, dry summers and cold winters. It can tolerate winter temperatures down to around -15°c when dormant, but only so long as the soil is well-drained. It requires hot summers to really thrive and flower well[].
