Illegal collection for medicinal use and habitat change by logging have caused rapid decline of the species. Although it is protected, these threats are still ongoing. The plant is classified as 'Endangered' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2013)[

Cultivation Details

Asarum trinacriforme grows in an area with a humid subtropical climate with very warm summers and mild winters. Precipitation is high throughout the year, but is highest in the months of May, June and September. The area is subject to frequent typhoons. The plant is unlikely to succeed outdoors in any but the mildest regions of the temperate zone.
Plants in this genus generally prefer a rich moist neutral to acid soil in dappled to deep shade in a woodland or in a shady position in the rock garden[
