Vaccinium stamineum is a much-branched deciduous shrub (to semi-evergreen in the south of its range), usually growing 60 - 120cm tall, though specimens up to 500cm have been recorded. The plant will often produce suckers if disturbed, forming small to extensive colonies in the wild[
